As most of you will know it's Black Awareness Month, and so in honour of this, we thought we would take a brief look at the style of the esteemed late rapper, Tupac Shakur.
The cultural legacy of Tupac is undeniable. Since the early days of West Coast hip-hop, the celebrated singer has been a recognised pioneer of the socially conscious cool. The current generation of ’90s-obsessed creatives certainly owe a debt to Pac, who, throughout his short- lived but impressive career, not only gave us an unforgettable music catalogue, but, as we here at Goldsmith Vintage never tire of admiring, a sense of style that is still imitated today. The '90s saw the rise of models, musicians and movie-stars becoming the faces of high-end brands; Shakur created an image that can be seen on the catwalks as well as on the streets, spanning from bandanas and workman boots to Versace suits on the red carpet.
